UR Medicine Finger Lakes Health proudly announces that Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital (SSMH) and Geneva General Hospital (GGH) have the fastest Emergency Department (ED) throughput times among all hospitals in the region.
In a recent assessment, SSMH and GGH were revealed to hold the top positions for Emergency Department efficiency. SSMH and GGH rank 1st and 2nd respectively among the Finger Lakes region hospitals. Additionally, SSMH claims the 1st spot in the small hospital category, catering to less than 40 beds, within the Western NY-Rochester region. GGH secures the 1st position for hospitals with over 40 beds in the same region.
This is a result of data compiled by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in their 2023 Ranking of all 147 New York Emergency Departments. The ranking methodology was based on the median time from arrival to discharge for patients seeking emergency care. The comprehensive data, covering the period from April 2021 to March 2022, analyzed and reported in 2023.
