The Marion S. Whelan School of Practical Nursing (MSWSPN) was ranked as one of the Best Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) programs in New York according to PracticalNursing.org. MSWSPN ranked number four out of 58 LPN schools in New York.

PracticalNursing.org’s evaluation process considers various factors, including past and present first-time NCLEX-PN pass rates, weighted by year. Their methodology ensures that they assess how effectively a program supports students in their journey towards licensure and beyond. Marion S. Whelan School of Practical Nursing, one of only three hospital-based nursing programs in New York State, was founded in 1956. Since that time, it has graduated over 1,800 nurses.

Finger Lakes Health offers a Tuition Buy Back program that provides eligible Finger Lakes Health employees in job categories including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Registered Nurses (RNs to BSNs) and Medical Technologists with assistance in repaying student loan debt.

Applications are being accepted until February 1, 2024 for the 2024-2025 academic calendar.
