Kara Lincoln, PT, DPT, was recently honored at the 2018 Healthcare Achievement Awards by the Rochester Business Journal during a luncheon March 23 at the Hyatt Regency Rochester.
Lincoln, Joint Center Program Manager, of The Joint Center of the Finger Health at Geneva General Hospital, was honored in the category of “Management”. This award recognizes an individual who serves in a management role in a health care institution who has made measurable positive contributions to his or her organization.
Lincoln leads a department that consistently meets or exceeds established national benchmarks and outcome measurements including patient satisfaction. She has been instrumental in creating collaborative processes with other departments to reduce wait times and improve bed utilization and team productivity.
Most recently, she played a key role in Geneva General Hospital’s deficiency free Joint Commission Disease Specific Certification Surveys for hip and knee replacement, led Finger Lakes Health in an important reduction of length of stay (LOS) for Joint Center patients and played a vital role in the reduction of blood transfusions. She is currently leading the safe patient handling initiative in the acute care hospitals.
Last May, Lincoln was recognized with the James J. Dooley Leadership Excellence Award, Finger Lakes Health’s highest leadership honor.
Lincoln earned her Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University in 2003, Master of Physical Therapy in 2005 and Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2007, both from Utica College and plans to pursue her MBA with a focus of Healthcare Administration or Healthcare Leadership/Management in the next few years.
