The Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary has awarded a $500 scholarship to Elisa Ganzon, a 2018 graduate from Mynderse Academy, Seneca Falls. Ganzon was awarded the scholarship because she earned the highest mentor evaluation average among her classmates in the New Vision Medical Careers Program at Geneva General Hospital. Mentor evaluations encompass assessments from a variety of practitioners including physicians, therapists, nurses, administrators, aides, and extenders.
Ganzon’s scholarship was announced at the Finger Lakes Technical & Career Center’s graduation held on June 12, and was presented to her by Instructor Laura Van Niel. Elisa will be attending Boston College in the fall.
“The New Vision students are an asset to Geneva General Hospital. We recognize how important it is to invest in educating future healthcare staff. We are pleased to support Elisa as she begins her college studies this fall,” said Auxiliary President Kelsey Thibault.
The New Vision Medical Careers Program is an educational partnership with Finger Lakes Technical & Career Center and Finger Lakes Health. Now in its 23rd year of offering outstanding high school seniors from surrounding districts a total immersion approach to education, the New Vision Medical Careers Program integrates English, Health Science, Participation in Government and Economics into a curriculum where students meet daily at Geneva General Hospital.
Established in 1951, the Geneva General Hospital Auxiliary, through friend-raising, fund-raising and volunteer service, is committed to helping the organization provide compassionate and high quality healthcare services to our Finger Lakes community.
