Finger Lakes Health Rehabilitation Services and Keuka College have collaborated to offer physical therapy services on the college campus for student-athletes, the general student population, faculty and staff.

The program is designed to enhance the care provided by the physical therapists and athletic trainers to rehab student-athletes for return to their sport. After surgery or injury, athletes now have easy access to rehabilitation, eliminating the possibility of having to miss class and helping them return to their sport.

In addition to treating orthopedic conditions that are typically associated with therapy, Finger Lakes Health’s Rehabilitation Services program also provides post-concussion therapy. This care is provided not only to the athletic population, but others in the college community who may have sustained a trauma or accident.

This collaboration is similar to the one established between Finger Lakes Health Rehabilitation Services and Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva. The difference at Keuka College is that the program is open to the entire college community, so the general student population, faculty and staff have the convenience of access to physical therapy services on campus.

Services are being provided by Finger Lakes Health’s licensed physical therapists three days a week, Tuesday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon, with Wednesdays limited to concussion care. The services are being provided in the athletic training suite of the Recreation Athletics Center at the college. Fees for the services are billed to the patient’s insurance, just as if they visited one of Finger Lakes Health’s outpatient rehab facilities. Those wishing to make an appointment for the PT services on the Keuka College campus should call the Rehab Department at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital at (315) 531-2577.

The physical therapists treating patients at Keuka, consult with Dr. Robert Anderson, with FLH Medical, PC - Pre-Emption Family Medicine, a family medicine physician, with specialty training in concussion management, and Dr. James Mark, orthopedic surgeon with Interlakes Orthopaedic Surgery, as needed.

Finger Lakes Health also provides physical therapy services at three sites: Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan, Garnsey Outpatient Rehabilitation Center at Geneva General Hospital and at Huntington Living Center in Waterloo. Those not affiliated with Keuka College can receive the same quality services from the same highly trained therapists that serve the college. Please call (315) 531-2577 for an appointment at the Penn Yan hospital; (315) 787-4570 for the Geneva facility or (315) 787-4944 for an appointment in Waterloo.
