Jose Acevedo, M.D., President and CEO of Finger Lakes Health, has announced the appointment of Ardelle Bigos, C-MSRN, NE-BC, as Vice President, Nursing.
Bigos comes to Finger Lakes Health with 35 years’ experience in nursing, in multiple nursing specialty areas. Most recently, she worked at Eastern Maine Health System where she served as Chief Nursing Officer and Vice President of Patient Care Services.
She provided oversight of Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ellsworth, ME, and Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, Blue Hill, ME, including patient care services and regulatory accreditation. She led her organization to achieve a 5 Star CMS quality rating, the first organization in the entire state of Maine to achieve such distinction. In addition, her efforts assisted in achieving safety and quality standards recognition by both The Leapfrog Group and Healthgrades.
Prior to her position in Maine, Bigos held the position of Chief Nursing Officer/Chief Experience Officer at Newton Medical Center, Newton, NJ. While there, she led changes in patient satisfaction that resulted in marked improvement in the patient experience and Press Ganey scores.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Trenton State College, Trenton, NJ, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, AZ. She is a certified medical and surgical RN and is Board Certified by the Organization of Nurse Executives.
She is a member of the Organization of Nurse Executives, the America College of Healthcare Executives, the Nursing Advisory Board and Honor Society Sigma Theta Tau.
