Back in the swing of things

Lorraine Sabatine, United States Postal Service retiree, is a very active person who has great enthusiasm for her golf game.

“My passion in retirement is playing golf and it came to a point when the pain in my knee was so severe I could only take one step at a time,” said Lorraine. “I could not finish a full season of golf and that really bothered me.”

Lorraine knew she had to do something about it so she went to see Dr. James Mark, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, at Interlakes Orthopaedic Surgery. After trying a step-wise treatment program for arthritis in her knee, Lorraine and Dr. Mark decided together to proceed with a total knee replacement.

Lorraine had her surgery at Geneva General Hospital. “The pre-education classes were extremely helpful and the staff members were absolutely wonderful! They were very attentive and caring,” said Lorraine.

Thrilled that her chronic pain is gone, Lorraine is back to her active life. “It is great to be able to play a full round of golf again,” said Lorraine. “I would recommend Dr. Mark to my friends and family.”
