Dr. Baltazar-Ford got me through my breast cancer journey!
Kaylee Stone, age 31, found a lump in her right breast. She immediately scheduled a mammogram with Women’s Health Services at Geneva General Hospital. It was then determined that she would need an ultrasound test followed up with a biopsy. The biopsy results came back positive for breast cancer.
Dr. Baltazar-Ford, board-certified general surgeon at Geneva General Surgical Associates was the first person she met after the diagnosis. The very first day she explained everything to Kaylee and her family. “Dr. Baltazar-Ford told me that breast cancer was going to become part of my life, but don’t let it take over my life,” said Kaylee. No words could ring truer for Kaylee; after all, she was only 31 years old and had her whole life in front of her.
Kaylee had surgery at Geneva General Hospital where Dr. Baltazar-Ford performed a lumpectomy and axillary dissection to remove the cancer from her breast. “The care I received from the staff was amazing, especially Dr. Baltazar-Ford. She is the most compassionate, caring doctor I have ever met in my life. She’s the one person who helped my family and I get through this!” said Kaylee.
Now Kaylee looks forward to coming in to Geneva General Surgical Associates for her follow up appointments. “I feel like Dr. Baltazar-Ford is more of a friend than a doctor. She has become part of my family,” said Kaylee. “I sincerely thank her for getting me through my breast cancer journey.”
