Don’t miss the Opportunity to join the Cardiac PRE-hab Program in Seneca County
There are a few slots still available for Finger Lakes Health’s successful “Cardiac PRE-hab” program for Seneca County residents to be held April 2 – May 28, 2013.

In the United States, heart disease is the number one cause of premature death. Finger Lakes Health is committed to reducing this statistic by inviting Seneca County residents and/or those who work in Seneca County, to participate in our health and fitness program, “Cardiac PRE-hab.” Sessions will incorporate risk factor modification, learning about the benefits of physical activity and healthy nutrition/cooking, and strategies for encouraging others to lead a healthy lifestyle.

The “Cardiac PRE-hab” program consists of one evening session a week for 9 weeks. The program is directed by Dr. Joseph Gomez, chief of Cardiology at Finger Lakes Health, and the cost is $35 per participant. Each class includes: • Specially designed lectures from practitioners who understand the importance of education with respect to risk factor modification; • Sessions with nutritionists to help you improve your eating habits; • Sessions with certified athletic trainers, along with a four-month grant-funded membership, at the New York Chiropractic College’s Athletic Center in Seneca Falls; and • Personal cardiac health screenings to determine your Body Mass Index, lipid and glucose levels, and blood pressure.

A major part of this program emphasizes education about coronary artery disease. It is hoped those completing the course will feel comfortable sharing this knowledge with their friends, family, co-workers, and the community.

Those interested in participating, please contact (315) 787-4012 or e-mail cardiacprehab@flhealth.org.

This program is made possible through a generous grant from The William G. McGowan Charitable Fund (www.mcgowanfund.org).
